Playlist to Delivery

Playlist to Delivery allows you to convert any Playlist into a Delivery that's ready to send to a Vendor.

Initial Setup

• Install ShotGrid Desktop, launch it, and log into the appropriate ShotGrid site.
• Identify the Playlist or Playlists in ShotGrid you wish to convert to a Delivery.

User Interface and Workflow

Playlist to Delivery runs within the ShotGrid webapp. So first, open your ShotGrid site in the browser. From here, there are two methods to launch it:

Method 1: If you are converting a single Playlist, browse to the Playlist’s detail page. From here, open the Playlist Actions menu by clicking the small arrow in the upper right corner of the window, and select Playlist to Delivery.

Method 2: This method allows you to convert multiple playlists with a single command. Browse to a Playlist page that contains the Playlists you wish to convert. Select them. Then, right-click on your selection, and click Playlist to Delivery in the resulting context menu. 

Select a sequence of Playlists by holding down the shift key while you click on the first, then the last, row in the sequence. You can select multiple individual Playlists by holding down the Control key (Windows) or the Command key (Mac) while clicking. Then right click on any selected Playlist to bring up the context menu.

When the app has completed running, it will display a pop-up window with a link to the newly created Delivery or Deliveries.

Next Steps

You’ve now created Deliveries based on existing Playlists in ShotGrid. In order to transfer these Deliveries to the Vendor, take the following steps:

1. Make sure the Delivery Method field on each Delivery is populated.
2. Use the Delivery to Vendor Service to send the files to the Vendor

Troubleshooting

If you don’t see Playlist to Delivery listed in the action menu in ShotGrid, be sure that you have ShotGrid Desktop running and that you are logged in to the correct site.
